At first at the desk the employe said that it was 3000R but after discussion accepted 2000R Room clean and quiet. Room very expensive considering that there no hot water. The personnal helped me with a reservation for a train ticket.

This hotel is good to stay with family. It is near to station. It is even to triveni sangam. Hotel staff is very helpful. Hotel even provide car to exploring place in allahabad at reasonable price. Overall the hotel is good.

good location. not best but good, room was nice with king bed and clean. but no shower... Provided bucket and dipper (see below). Water temp was only luke-warm. ac worked 1 out of 4 days. wifi doesn't reach rooms so must go into hall near transmitter or in lobby. they advertise restaurant but its more like a dinning hall. front desk is useless and uncooperative. I asked for manager but he was never available. also OYO would not accept USA credit card and hotel required a cash deposit to reserve. OYO should disown this property. I'm reporting this review for my 76-year old mother and 73-year old aunt who stayed at this location from Feb 26 - Mar 1. They gave me these details on the phone. I live in the United States and they both live in Bangalore, India. They're not internet savvy and wanted me to register their complaint with the hotel. I did that just now and as someone who has posted to TripAdvisor before (and found this property on TripAdvisor to begin with), I thought I would provide my family's feedback. I'm Padma Rao, and visited Hotel Sundaram with my sister Shantha Rao to go to the Kumbh. My son had booked and prepaid at OYO 1671, Hotel Sundaram Prayagraj - so checking in was not an issue. Our first shock was when we got into the room to see how dirty it was - a far cry from the nice pictures of the hotel you see everywhere on the internet. The towels weren't a fresh set; the bed sheets were dirty, the pillow covers so. The service staff was slow and unresponsive to our requests. When we told them about the condition of the room and why it was so, the front desk manager told us that it was our fault for not complaining earlier. It never occurred to the manager that the room should be clean to begin with. There were some positives, though. The hot water supply was on a 24 x 7 basis. The restaurant was big but we, being vegetarians, were shocked to see chicken and other non-vegetarian food being served openly. This is one of the holiest places in India, and Kumbh is one of the holiest times for a devotee (happening once every six years) - yet we had to go to the river after this experience. We understand that foreigners were visiting and the hotel needs to cater to all guests, but, at a minimum, we could have been warned or served food in our room. The elevators were on battery backup and we compliment the hotel for this. Both of us are disabled and cannot climb stairs. Our room was on the 4th floor. Having an elevator always working was helpful. We never met the captain. We were told that initiating contact was our responsibility and not the captain's! Strange!! This was our first stay at an Oyo, and I'm not sure if we will stay again.
